New York Times Building Wins CTBUH 10 Year Award
The New York Times Building has been named winner of the CTBUH 10 Year Award! Completed 10 years ago, the tower emphasizes volume, views, light, respect for context, and relationship to the street.
The ALPHATUBE® product by Shildan Group interacts with the curtain wall in a very different way, creating a dialogue between the ceramic and the glass. The result is a mixture of lightness and transparency combined with a pattern of ceramic cylinders. By using the ALPHATUBE® sunscreen system the architectural team of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop and FX Collaborative, were able to use clear glass and achieve maximum transparency while still achieving maximum energy efficiency.
Congratulations to RPBW Architects, FXVCollaborative and our team.
